But now, that's all changed. Dr. Hekkert can reduce that two-week waiting period and the two or three office visits down to just a single visit with new technology! This new technology is called CEREC™, a computer-aided design and milling device. CEREC allows us to create a permanent crown in just a few minutes. Now, there's no more waiting for the lab and no return trips to the dentist. Patients love it!
The CEREC system allows us to repair a damaged tooth in about an hour. We no longer need to take impressions or create temporaries, and CEREC enables us to satisfy patients seeking a long-lasting, esthetic alternative to silver or plastic fillings.
To make the restoration, we first paint a reflective powder over the prepared tooth. Using a special camera, we take an accurate picture of the tooth, and the picture is then displayed on a computer screen, enabling us to design the restoration. Then CEREC takes over and automatically creates the restoration. Finally, we bond the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth.
All this makes going to the dentist much easier and faster, and who really wants to spend more time in the dental chair?

Invisible Orthodontics

We have a solution for you that will keep you smiling! Dr. Hekkert proudly offers his patients Invisalign™ invisible aligners that can give you a straight, uniform smile in only 9 – 15 months. They correct all the problems that traditional braces do – gaps, overcrowding and over-, under-, or crossbite.
Using 3-D computer imaging, a complete treatment plan is created starting with the current position of your teeth to your new smile. A series of clear thermoplastic aligners, similar to whitening trays, are fabricated. You start with the first set and every two weeks change to the next set, as your teeth are gently advanced toward their new positions.
Total treatment time varies for each individual, depending on your needs and goals. Evaluations in our office are only every one to two months.
