Children's Dental Sealants

An Easy Way for Kids and Adolescents to Help Prevent Tooth Decay

Even with diligent brushing and flossing, the contours of back teeth contain deep grooves that encourage bacteria and acid to linger and eventually cause decay. Any amount of decay is permanent damage that needs a restoration.

One application of a dental sealant will greatly help as a preventive treatment against cavities. The treatment is incredibly easy. All the teeth are cleaned, then sterilized. One thin coat of a clear "varnish" sealant is applied to all exposed surfaces of teeth. A curing light is used to bond the application to the teeth. There are no shots or drilling. The sealant is invisible, and all tooth structure remains intact. We highly recommend this treatment, as it has been proven to greatly preserve the natural teeth of both children and adolescents.
